LevelSet is a chemical formulated specifically for use with Dharmaset Dyes, and has affinity for both dye and fiber. For all shade depths 1% LevelSet is used at liquor ratios from 8:1 to 25:1. Below 8:1 the amount should be reduced to 0.5%, above 25:1 it
should be increased. LevelSet improves the compatibility of the Dharmaset dyes, promotes their migration and exhaustion, and greatly helps to ensure fiber and surface levelness. These effects can be improved still further by an addition of 5–10% Glauber’s salt (particular recommended for dyeing yarn and piece goods)

I used just Glaubers salts at 20% WOF with and without Albegal. So wishing I had used it the first time around! Without the results were mottled and incomplete. The dye didnt exhaust quite as well but given that the color was perfectly even for a deep shade of red I was happy. I keep seeing people insist that Albegal isnt needed for the home dyer but I learned the hard way on $200 of silk jacquard. I am an experienced dyer I am a chemist by training and do everything by weight and still got uneven results with GS only. So yes you may be a small batch dyer but if you are using deep shades high volume yardage or hard to achieve colors (true red) then use this.
